3PM a friend called and asked if I could cancel my plans and be available to attend the All Star Hockey Game.
OMFG!
We sat 10 rows from the ice and it was amazing.
The passing…and talent…and OMFG.
I love hockey and this was hockey to the nth degree.
Of course I am more about the hitting and checking that the finesse game but there is something to be said for a perfectly timed five person pass that scores a goal!
Thanks Doug!
Before I found out about the All Star game, I decided to treat myself with a concert. Bruce Hornsby was playing the Bass Hall in Fort Worth and I have always been a fan. From the pop-chart topping days to the jazz improvisational days. I am always a fan of real talent. So I went and it was amazing. All the favorites where played but they were more Jazz improvisational masterpieces. Each 3-4 minute song grew into a 5-8 minute expansion of the original song’s idea. It was astounding and I haven’t even mentioned the “Two-Hand-Independence” where his brain is improvising each hand as if it was a separate artist and blending both together on the fly. Stunning. With my ticket I also got a five-disk (4CD 1DVD) box set called intersections and covers most of his career. It’s awesome in it’s own right but you all know me…The only way to make a 5 disk box set better: Get the artist to autograph it! I waited by the stage door and talked to Bruce and got my autograph. He’s as classy and nice in person and you would expect.
Next week Jenara and I are seeing former President Bill Clinton at the Nokia and then in April we have tickets to Wicked!
More to come!
